1. Competence.
2. Critical Multiplier increases to +2 for Great Crossbows for Expert Builder.
3. I'd say go pure Rogue. Mine has over 900 HP at level 30 and 32% Dodge I think. He's survivable as long as I'm paying attention. All that extra sneak damage is awesome too when you use Assassin's Trick.
4. Sun Elf...for the Extra Int.
Agreed except for #4. I would go Human (and I have several times).
-For just 1 point, you get stackable 20% damage boost that impacts Sneak Attack as well.
-Better yet, for just 6 (elf has to spend 6 as well) points you get the stackable 20% and You can match the Sunelf's total +4 to intelligence buffs.
-You don't have the Con nerf
-You get the extra feat

The Mechanic capstone is nice and I find myself using Hipflask quite often.
Absolutely agree! the buffs from the hip flask on top of a end-game Mech are fantastic, and with all my Hamp it's a big-ass heal as well.
And the extra SA are great.

2) heavy repeater or Gxbow, I can get or make whatever is needed
One other point, have both. I use my Gxb to do the lion share of my killing, but depending on what destiny you're running it will pay to occasionally switch out to you a repeater, don't be shackled to just the one because the beauty of the class is you don't have to choose. I will normally do all my big dps in a FoTW GxB mode, but when my adrenaline charges drop or we are tangling with soft stuff I will switch to the Repeater for a brief period and get more charges. There is many ways to use both with all the relevant destinies and legendary feats. The GxB gets more gravy towards that end of the spectrum but the repeater has a important role as well.
