Quote:Since most of DDO are playing aura warlocks, I'm pretty sure I'm in the majority. Math's a bitch that way. But do go on, and propose an alternate blitz build for reaper 10, and lets see how many would prefer to play it over holding auto attack down.
While saying that "most of DDO" currently plays warlocks is an exaggeration, it's fair to say a lot of people do. What you're missing, however, is that most of their builds (including yours) suck.
You seem to lack an understanding of the difference between a build that more or less gets by and a build that's actually optimized. As someone who plays with 20 hotbars, I can promise you that if it were more effective to play with, say, 6 bars and only use two or three abilities I along with the rest of the "serious" players would do so.
While it's fine that you want to create lazy builds for lazy players, nobody asked you to do that here and now, and you aren't upfront about the fact that none of your "builds" (such as they are) would ever be used by any decent player.
I'd like to reiterate what I said in a different thread:
Quote:The way I see it, that's precisely the problem I and many other people have with you.
You're bad, and you create bad builds. That's okay, most people are bad and create bad builds when they bother to try.
What separates you from the unwashed masses (and not in a good way) is your incessant posting and promotion of said bad builds without ever indicating that they're bad.
You're the type of player who shouldn't be giving out advice (unless the advice requested is "give me an odd, weak build to run and try to convince me that it makes sense"), yet you insist on polluting both the motherboards and the vault with bad advice without ever posting a disclaimer in recognition of that fact.
You seem to be operating under the assumption that anyone asking for build advice wants something unusual and out of the box, but that's almost certainly not the case. While I applaud your creativity, I'm not convinced that the average player asking for build advice wants what you're offering. That is, a god-awful build that you hype up and prove to be "good" by offering some sort of bullshit, invented metric (see: the warlock thread where you talked about "hp per second"). I might be giving you too much credit, but I'm convinced that your endless hyping of the waste of space warlocks that currently infest DDO (the terrible hp/shield builds) helped create and/or perpetuate the cancer that is their existence.
In short, people dislike you not because you're bad, but because you offer up bad builds to clueless players and misrepresent them as something other than the piles of shit that they are. You aren't "offering up more than 0", you've made what I can only assume is a conscious decision to trick players in need of actual help into playing horrible builds.
Seems like a net minus to me.
