Best DPS caster now?

Warlock or Wizard?  TRing my Shiradi wiz and looking for the best DPS caster to run from level 15-30.

I think the sorcerer mix is outdated now - a larger portion of your DPS comes from epic spells and the archmage SLAs (which you are forced to use).  For max DPS, I'd say a 3 warlock splash for 10% additional crit damage (13 wiz/4 fvs/3 warlock).

Weren't you the saying that solo accomplishments don't mean anything? 

By the way, I was playing the sorc/wizard mix half a year before gold.  On the wizard/sorcerer split, here you can see me going through solo EE WGU: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8QFqKgBZ5A and solo EE GOP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZYO87j0F1g (which was a record at the time). 

I'm not saying this to brag or anything, but if you want to bring in credentials based on solo accomplishments, I think I'm at least qualified to give my opinion. 

PS:
Another problem with the gold shiradi in current meta is that it requires 3pc abishai, which is difficult to fit in, in addition to the 4pc greensteel set.

I thought we were all just trolling. Everyone knows the best caster is a pure 20 warlock.

I'm still sticking with druid/warlock/wiz being a close 2nd though.

A lot of debate on the best Shiradi split?

So best non-shiradi would be 20 Warlock?  Is that a consensus?  I would guess 41 TS/39 SE?

I said they don't mean everything. But when one is exceptional, it certainly means a lot.

I apologize if I gave the impression your opinion does not matter, that's not what I think. What I meant to imply was that opinions aren't the same thing as very strong objective proof like the achievemtns on Golds shiradi. My problem with SOlo/Speed runs is not that they don't prove anything about a build, it's that they prove A LOT more about the skill and preparation and experience of the player recording the video thant hey do of a build. 9/10 people with identical equipment and build as Gold could not do that EE FoT.

the speed run eth posted is excellent however he is also an exceptional player and has been for years

DPS-wise his build is probably not top of the pile but its hard to say. If you're smart with your clickies and supremacy you can get dots / heals going for insane values.
Eth is not using an abishi set. CM is fucking tits but honestly the aoe is already so good its not a deal breaker to lose a few missles.

Pure warlock is not bad since single target damage rotations can keep you occupied and their aoe is equal to a MM / CM spammer. IMO Enlightened spirit is a trap.

End of the day we'd have to see dps tests to answer the OP. Am just braindumping here, some of what I say may be some garbage.

I've run the Gold Shiradi.  I found it way more gear dependent than I like.  If you dont have Abishai set or DOJ gloves (i dont have abishai set) it is shite.

It would be 2s CM +6s CM SLA + Arcane Blast vs 3s aura + 4s aura + 5s Eldritch Burst AE + 8s Eldritch Wave 3xAE +9s Stunning Blast AE

I'm sure one could toss in spell power coefficients and figure out how many mobs it would take to make one better than the other.

You do realise that in your efforts to hastily backtrack, these are two contradictory statements.

You're asserting that solo speed runs prove more about the player than the build, but in the above post you challenged them to do it to prove "the superior DPS"

Which by using your logic if they did, you would claim the build was still shit but compensated for by their skill?

Isn't the correct answer that there are likely several builds in the same space, but in the hands of a very skilled player, some have more potential than others?

what is an oom wiz? The 13wiz splits can get their multiplier and force power high enough.

Warlocks seem less bursty than Wizard splits.  Less reliant on procs.
