This game bears little resemblance to the 2006 original version. No 10 year old game does. It wouldn't make it 10 years on the exact same systems, gear, builds, and level cap.
Not sure what the point of this thread is.
TR was simultaneously the best and worst idea ever. It provided a longevity and created an XP grind that can last for years and stretched the game enjoyment out for many players but, at the same time, it creates a power creep that kills old content, it damages end game, since your character never really caps, it dis-incentivizes running multiple characters unless you have a ton of time or money or both, and it spreads out the player base rather than grouping them up.
This game was pretty much the same from 2006 to 2009, even through cap raises, as they could control power level and challenge. TR was the beginning of the challenge issues. We currently have 6 sources of power creep when comparing a starting character to a long time character: Build points, Heroic PL's, Iconic PL's, Epic PL's, Twists of Fate, and Gear. Back in 2006 you had one source - Gear. And you only a few months or so of gear grind to deal with. Not 10 years of grinding, and crafting, and raid loot, and exploits and 10 years worth of content(and the loot that comes with it) to deal with.
