Ring2 - No Slavers named ring?  That ring looks like garbage compared to http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Legendary_Ring_of_Power
    Melee alacrity, Quality Strength, and Insightful armor piercing. 

Neck - Golden Guile?  Really?  That old thing?  Lame. 

Animated Rope?  On a Strength based melee?  What build is this for?  A heavy armor, strength based melee trying to maximize sneak attacks?

No insightful deadly?  No Int or Charisma?  Is this a build that isn't using KtA or DM?  No insightful CM or stun?  Do we not like crowd control on melees anymore?  No slavers set?  So we are leaving +2 to strength, +4 damage per hit and +4 MP on the table?  To pick up a Golden Guile and an Animated Rope? 

So you are missing:

+7 Insight Deadly damage
15% melee Alacrity
13% Insight Armor Piercing
A 28 lower Int or Charisma which means at least 7 points of damage per swing from KtA or DM.  Also off of your Stun/CC DC's
+7 off DC's for no insight CM ( now up to about +14 missing.  So much for CC'ing LE mobs...)
+2 Strength
+4 Damage (now up to about +18 base damage per hit missing in total)
+4 MP

And that doesn't even cover the weapons choices... Insight Con on a weapon.  Ugh.  Healing Amp on a weapon?  Double Ugh!  That's more DPS lost.

Dunno man. I'd say that 80% of attacks are on Mass held/pwsed/Direcharged/Balanced-Attacked mobs.
SA is pretty fucking important.

I love the helm.  No arguments there.  (Bonus points for the cosmetic on it)  But the guile is only giving you deception - a 5% chance to do sneaks (which you don't need for helpless mobs) and ghostly. 

The belt and the +22 to SA damage is a nice add.  But:

A)  This build has shit CC, so you aren't direcharging crap with it (unless we count LH, which, if that's your target for even posting a gear set, juts give up now).  Your DC's are off by 15-17.  So you are not soloing LE anything and attacking helpless mobs with any regularity.  You are dependent on running with a DC caster to get that damage. 

B)  +22 SA damage vs. +18 base damage on all attacks?  I'll take the +18 base.  And the +4 MP.  And the 15% alacrity.  All of which benefit from the helpless state too.  Do the math:

+22 * 80% = +18 per swing.  (rounded)  -IF you can find someone to create helpless states for you.

+18 *1.04 * 1.15 = +22 per swing (rounded)  Oh.  and the 4 MP and 15% melee alacrity add to ALL your damage.  So their benefit is magnified even more.  It's a slam dunk that it is adding more DPS.  Plus you now have the space to get more defense and to get the Stun/CM DC's up.  So you can create a  helpless state reliably on your own.  But even if you can't you are still getting the same damage either way. 

It's not awful, but it's a one trick pony, not self sufficient, and sub-optimal.  There are better uses for these slots.

I'm going to take the time to explain. The new ring has a penalty to hide. The bills I am using focuses on hide. I like the rain but there are better things to put there. That was the last straw I chose because I needed devotion.

The tune you were talking about fish tanks part 2 shroud bosses ANH Le. It is a two weapon fighting Ranger. It does him know the angles. It also has the haste feat. I would recommend putting on goggles with it if need be.

Balazar is still the highest DPS one-hander. You should be using a shroud intelligence stick 4 know the angles. I keep balanced attacks on this tune. Of course a two-handed fighter would have a very different setup if she thought that he wanted tactics. I think that that's a silly idea when you can get no feel helpless with two weapon fighting AOE. Dance of Death is better than cleats in my opinion. But you know to each their own. I like build diversity.

Improved deception is the single most important defensive attribute when tanking on a two weapon fighter. The golden guile also swaps great with the insightful double strike necklace.

I hope that I have charitably address your concerns because I really don't think you need to have a stick up your butt haha.

Hey, WFB, no offense meant on your build.  I even asked what the build was because the gear choices weren't working for a straight up strength based melee.  The inclusion of the SA gear and hide suggested some sort of DWS or Rogue build looking to maximize sneaks.  Which is fine.  Those builds are fun, but the title suggested a general purpose melee build.  Since I didn't know, I picked the most common/optimal Strength Melee Build and suggested some gear mods for that.   

Maybe I came in with a misconception because I was thinking of a TWF Tempest or Kensai strength build in LD using Dire Charge and Stunning Blow and Balanced Attacks Lay waste to get people off their feet and then hand out some heavy beat downs.

seems good. no other way really to fit in insightful stats along with slavers, and still get ghostly/imp deception/hamp/stunning/sneak attack/.

they actually fucked gearing with the new update. I'd have to get high and stare at tables for hours to play loot tetris now. pretty much why no one has posted new gear sets.

I respect Wipe's opinion.  I agree he is a good player.  I'm not concerned with whether he is a better player than me or not.  On this specific issue, I disagreed with the value of +22 SA damage vs. +18 base damage and 15% melee alacrity.  I like having discussions with players I think are good players.  If they prove me wrong, I learn something.  I got no issue with that.   

Per usual, you don't add much of substance to the discussion. Just trollish insults.
