Lol.

Is he gonna toss out the last d20 and make SRRR? Spell resistance...resistance rating?

...

On second thought, I seem to recall the devs hinting at secret under-the-hood gameplay mechanic changes for reaper mode.

I wouldn't be surprised if they already changed SR from a d20 over to the AC style formula for reaper mode.

Monster average % chance to penetrate = (Monster’s Caster Level + 10.5) / (Target’s Spell Resistance * 2)

And to top things off, here's Sever'd-limb / AKA - Lil' Miss do-nothing, explaining the massive sweeping changes in the aggro overhaul.

https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/487635-Calrification-on-an-aggro-chang...

Qezuzu

"If a monster kills or loses their primary target, they will now aggro correctly on who has the most hate next, instead of the closest target."

Can you get some clarification on what "loses" means? Based on some admittedly limited+sloppy testing with a hireling, I don't see any difference in how mobs behave when they lose a target, at least with how I personally define "lose," which is where a player is sneaking/invisible and the mob no longer has the red-eye icon when targeting that player, and must start search (attacking the air.)

Was the intended change made so that mobs more quickly change targets when that happens? If so, it doesn't seem to be working, at least when the only other available target is a hireling. If not, what is the intended change; what does "lose" mean?

Severlin

When the lead character of a group approaches monsters and they detect the players, the monsters should now, most of the time, have the nearest character at the top of their initial threat list instead of the furthest character.

    Sev~

Qezuzu

Thanks for the response, and that's a good change, but I don't think it really addresses the question I had, which is what happens when a mob can't find its current target.

Also, I assume this change (in the OP) also prevents mobs from attacking dead players?

Severlin

Nothing else should have changed except the described behavior.

(We don't have a bug for monsters attack dead players as far as I know, so if you see that please report it.)

    Sev~

Seriously, did SSG just watch the movie Office Space as their training video...?

lol. That's a bug? Shit. I thought aggro on a dead summon is how we were supposed to kill AC/Fort ignoring + extra damage HP bloated champion rednames.

That shit has been going on for over a year. The especially bad origin was in Stormhorns where the griffins would attack anything. It eventually got debugged but fix one thing, break 10 other things is the modicum of efficiency Turbine would abide by back in the day.

I'm still trying to formulate my ghost hate aggro 'tank' build.

Always be a 1st lifer

Female caster

at least one lvl cleric

death pact

To build hate and aggro, cure light wounds, mass cure light wounds

*Rubbinns alt mod*  Run around in circles shrieking like a naughty lil' brussel sprout being run through a juicer seconds before dying.

remain in soulstone form til party kills mobs and/or boss

I don't think naming names would be a good thing for me to do, but I'd pretty much add anyone who's a know-it-all dick on the list. Even if they are sometimes intelligent with their opinions, the way they state them in long, "i'm a lawyer at trial"-type posts makes me want to punch them in the face. They act like whiney babies with god complexes and then freak out if someone so much as breathes criticism in their direction.

Smart people don't elicit "side effects."  They understand in advance the consequences of their actions.
