A belt with 3 separate types of false life? Really?

Uncreative much?

That they are.

Hmm, Wiki also mentions "Some named items at a variety of level ranges! 80 tokens each"

Anybody seen this yet? I won't be home to play for several hours Sad

Why do people get so wet over tomes? Buy a +7 supreme and be done with it. I got a whole backpack full of +1s and +2s sitting on a mule.

So much this.  Even if you got a token a chest (instead of a chance at mimic a chest and a chance at a token a mimic - if I understand it right), it still wouldn't be worth the grind.  I lost interest within minutes.  Going to play like I've been playing and probably leave the tokens rotting with all the various defunct crap in my bags.

The 80 tokens for any single piece of named gear is an event killer.  They would have been better off going with the progressive costs they used for the 10th anniversary event.

Assuming you pump and dump vet2's to run haverdasher (hard), Irestone (casual) and KNR (hard) you can probably count on getting about 15~20 tokens an hour.

If you standard quest with friends or solo on R1~R5 (depending on clear speed and level range) you can probably anticipate 2~5 per hour.

So yeah.   Grats SSG on another successful shitty grindathon.

It took about 2 hours and a few mimics in reaper before I turned the damned thing off.  I'm done with this event.

Anyone who says they like it is a moron.

It would take forever to grind all the tp i need to buy a set of 7s.. Too poor to buy tp and even if i was super rich as some seem to be... Im not trying to throw ssg any more $$$ for tomes.

I managed to get all +5s on all of my toons without buying a single 1.. Now days.. i play too fucking much still. Never gotten a +6 or +7 EVER... fuck them.. do reaper slavers.. get that +5.. wtf do i gotta run to get higher? Even low lvl tomes rarely drop.. they are too greedy. I rolled an 100 in gold roll.. got a btc +5.. fuck ya

In the end... gotta buy them.. or go without

I rolled a vet4 Barb 3 - Fighter 1 (Great Cleave). 15-20 tokens is pretty ambitious as a per hour goal - if solo. It would be easier in groups, where people could split up and open more chests.

Measured by ship buffs, after ~2h in quests, I ended up with 37 tokens - but this was with two people dishing out for mimic baits (2x10).

Ransacked in Haverdasher, Ringleader, and most Irestone. Probably gonna roll a fresh character for the next round. If I can stomach it.

Pulled a ML2 Impact Vorpal maul.

And pansophic circlet is best in slot for exactly the same uncreative reason:  Stacking shit up makes for a huge bonus.

They know that heroic lives is the thing right now, so why would they discount the heroic gear?  Cuts into the sales of mimic bait after all.

No, let me be Frank.

Pro-tips - Kobold's new ringleader (without the short-cut).  6 possible chests in about 3 minutes.  Most likely the fastest farm for this event.

For higher levels, if (seen it once but only once) chests that contain keys can be mimics but aren't ransackable, might be the route to go if you don't want to/can't roll a farming toon.

What you need to do is find 12 people each with 195 TP they are willing to spend.  Everyone buys 10 Mimic Bait.  Run Tempest Spine over and over, alternating who uses their mimic bait.  Just run to Fire and Ice and get those two chests and recall/reset if you want.  Or run it the underwater chest just before the beholder.  That will give you 5-7 chests (depending on how many drow you get).

Probably take about an hour to get through all 120 mimic baits.  120 tokens for 195 TP.  That's a full item and a half.

Tempest Spine isn't a good suggestion since the guide says:

Quote:
Any non-raid chest opened by a character level 3 or above can become a mimic!

https://www.ddo.com/en/mimic-hunt-guide

But then again, it also mentions the mimic frenzy/madness, which according to Cordo doesn't exist anymore. So who fuckin' knows.

Quote:
There is no Mimic Hunt Madness any more.

Did they say these tokens are going to be like night revels stuff and be worthless after the event?

Because there ain't no way I give enough fucks to try to get 80 tokens for some shit.

Ah.  Missed that tidbit.  Thanks!

I wonder if Thunderholme adventure area has the same limitation.  If not, you could do this there.

Or, just do the same concept in a 6 man party.  6 people 195 TP each = 60 tokens.  Find a fast farm and hit it hard.

Just want to clarify: you have to be at or around quest level?

Or can I, say, take my lvl 18 character into a lvl 8 quest and still find mimics?

Guide says it's within 4 levels of the quest level. Coco on the MB says it's 4 levels from adjusted quest level. One or the other. (Haven't had time to login and really check)
