I need to put 3 paladin lives on, what is the best way to go?  Bladeforged pure or heroic (human?) pure using a falchion? , 10/10 warlock split, or some other split?  I've been digging around and haven't found much.  Seems like Paladin stalled a few years ago.

you can do heroics easily on a pally. Get a two handed weapon, grab cleaves and holy retribution from kotc. Insta kill aoe melee cleave, heal, mrr/prr, and save your way through almost everything.

You can, but thf is easier on stat requirements and feat allocation while leveling as a traditional strength build. And there are glancing blows that aoe for clean-up damage when cleaving and when using active or basic attacks on the 1st and 4th animation. 3rd glancing blow does not occur until gthf feat is taken and then flags the 3rd attack attack animation for glances.

Also, it's an excuse to whip out the sword of shadows.


TWF would get half your stat damage modifier on offhand attacks without anyway to boost that or the offhand attack rate ( like tempest or monk trees ). THF gets to abuse stat modifiers on all hits at x1.5, and get increased power attack x2, plus carnifex at low levels is probably the best weapon on heroics.

Anyway, Rubbins expanded my thoughts pretty wide. THW is easy power creep on elite: you get double damage from power attack, 1.5 x bonus stat damage, you get awesome AOE cleanup with cleaves, you get maximum advantage on any special attacks (as pally smite, stun attack, trip). You have super lame attack speed and decent single target DPS, but outside higher skulls you dont need it at all.
Ranger *may* do it much better, cause of death dance and full damage on offhand. Yet there so many awesome weapon choices for thw: SoS, Tail, Antique Gaxe, El Bloom. I would never give it up if I just want to make 1-30 and TR. Leveling with this stuff is most efficient way for me.

For higher skulls its definetly different, cause you ned your single target DPS to carry champs and bosses, and most thw builds in bad position in this case. They are not useless though, but just do 1.3-2 times less single target than actual top DPS builds. And this difference is huge.

There was a dude on Ghallanda that rocked a 15/5 paladin/ranger tempest for a long time and literally outkilled everyone.  He used to make instakillers and pre-nerf warlocks ragequit groups because they didn't get to kill anything.

It's one of those builds that takes a metric fuck ton of timing and skill to play to the 99th % though.  It was always funny to see other reasonably skilled players try to run a similar build and fall flat.

what would feats for a pure 2hf pally be? Would you take cleave the feat or skip it for Pally tree ones?

If you're going to cap you want cleave for momentum swing & lay waste.  The t5 pally greater cleave doesn't require the t2 pally cleave, so no worries there.  If you're not going to cap take the pally versions, it frees up a feat and you're spending ap in the tree anyway.

Same as a lot of people, he just moved on. Left right before ravenloft came out. Fortunently for the shit players on Ghallanda who actually care about the kill count, they can rest easy knowing that a player of that caliber doesn’t exist on the server right now. They could barely touch him before shrui/warlock nerfs when melee didn’t have dope gear from RL.
