Well, you see the glass half-full, I see it as a fucked up jelly jar that is hard to drink from. That letter was really short and vague considering Cordo talked about it back in December. Maybe it's simply a low priority for Sev, but again, the season pass, Daybreak, layoffs, and a delayed producer's letter for no apparent reason based on the content of it, is worth a speculation or two.
Ok. If you can compare it to the 2016,2017, and 2018 ones and tell me how it differs so greatly. As far as I can tell it is the same level of detail we have been getting.
As far as I can tell, nothing has changed content wise. It's the same as always. Not sure what you are looking at and saying "OMG this is different than the last several years. Somthing has changed."
I'm still not getting the stress around the Season Pass, either. A business wanted to make money so they released a new product offering. They used a limited quantity/limited time to create a sense of urgency. Um...OK? Sounds like something every business ever tries to do. Kind of what they are supposed to be doing.
The better question is: Why are there not more new ideas to generate revenue being done? Why not have a Winter Cosmetic Pack that is only available for 2 weeks every year with some cool winter themed cosmetics and maybe a special item that does some glaciation stuff or a weapon effect etc. Kinda like what you can make with the event, but different and only available through the purchase. Limited quantity. I mean, it's not rocket science. Other games are doing it. Do the same around halloween. Do the same around Pirate Day. Create a "Dragon Day" as a fake annual "Event" and sell a Dragon Themed Equipment Pack. Limited time. Limited quantity. Why the fuck not? Sell shit. It's the entire reason a business exists. I just don't get the hand wringing about it.
