Today after reading things like 15-20 temporary hp is a good thing on epics in lamania...
or that 3d6 in an active ability that uses charges...
The devs have no idea how this game is played

They never have. And then we get their "your build must not be good" if we are pissed about not having Dire Charge. Like we haven't all put together amazing creative builds that exploited shit those brick headed retards never even considered when they make their half assed designs.

Very true.  The early days had such a different vibe.

These new changes require more retooling of my brain than what it's worth I feel.  I think it's easier to fly a plane than play DDO.

This.

My wife has already quit DDO. and I think I will folllow suit.

I'll just play Baldur's Gate III and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous with her. Heck, we might even play Diablo II: Resurrected together.

Sunken costs, be damned.

I stopped paying after u48.4.
I stopped playing after u49.

I just heard about ED changes, don't plan to come back ever.

Maybe make one last post on Mobo when they announce maintenance mode. Cheesy

Baldur's Gate III and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Just wasted half n hour watching videos of these.  Looks good to me.  Might give em a try one day, especially Pathfinder.  It has a feel I like.

I only returned to WoW because of the time invested in my old toon, and because it just works.  Now I just do storyline quests and farm.

They should rename it to World of Aged Carecraft.

WoW is tough if you're not getting hardcore into a guild so you can go raiding. That's what ultimately led me to quite. I didn't have the time to devote to the game to be in a raiding guild and the game back then was seriously lacking in things to do by yourself. After I had explored everywhere I wanted to explore and hit a wall crafting, it was just... dull. I couldn't advance my character and there was nothing else to do.

Agreed.  It is dull but I'm not so much about advancing characters.  In fact you can (in game) pay some gold to lock your level and never get experience granted ever again.  Raids bored me and in fact the other day I took myself (just me) through Blackwing Lair simply because I'd never been there and wanted to take a look.  Eventually I'll probably start PvPing again as that's what I did a lot of before.  DDO PvP just sucked arse.

They nuked Pulverizer, too.

Maybe they'll add Devastating Critical back in one of the cores?

Yeah.  I'm looking forward to Baldur's gate 3 and Diablo II resurrected.

I'm also probably going to be diving into Diablo Immortal on mobile.

Who says we have to play an MMO?

At this point, I could easily leave that genre of games altogether.

But yeah I get it. For me DDO was always more about being an MMO than being a DnD game. I like MMOs for a variety of reasons, so with DDO turning into a desiccated turd I have to find a new MMO.

It's still the best D&D MMO. It comes with ladder bugs, lag, and retarded developers. You learn to deal or you leave. /shrug

I still enjoy the grind while I'm bullshitting with friends. The first Lama pass of the new EDs wasn't so bad. There will be a new meta, and the best players will still find something to be best at.

I'm capping my third favorite toon and then I'll play some Diablo, but I'll be running this pos into the dirt until its dead just like DB's mom.

The problem for me is the absolute gap between gaming entertainment options.

Measuring between "best gaming experience" and DDO is almost from Earth to Mars at this point.  Unlike Elon, they aren't working on closing the gap.

It kind of like not giving a shit anymore whether 80's Gun 'n Roses was better or worse than 80s Metallic.  Metal moved on.  Wink

My big problem is I can't find anything else that scratches my MMO itch. Every other game I've looked at is some piece of shit pvp-centric "action" RPG. I'm seriously looking at moving into EverQuest II for no other reason than because it offers me things to do that aren't PvP and end-game raids.

Wouldn't expect anything for a while.  Too much money in the pvp/pve twitch/action rpg games.

MMOs are trending towards dumbest/simplest formula for snatching $$$.  That's why I abandoned the category altogether.

Maybe in 5-10 years they'll figure out how to marry up something like Nioh/Dark Souls with an open world.  When that happens then we'll be getting closer to Shangri-la.

Can't get into that viewing angle. I need other first-person or over the shoulder chasecam. PoE just looks like a diablow clone, I can tell from a couple screenshots I'll never be able to get into that.

I know and it fucking sickens me. Pay-per-click microtransaction garbage. Worse still no one can seem to adopt a model like DDO; they are all EITHER 100% locked behind subscription OR Pay-per-click microtransaction garbage. It pisses me off.

"action" rpgs and pvp is the fucking worst. Fuck that shit. I literally cannot think of something more poring than MMO PVP, and I once spent 4 hours on an airplane staring at the back of the seat in front of me in total silence. If I had a choice I'd rather do that again than PvP in an MMO. [/quote]

That would be an "action" RPG. They have like 50 of those out right now.

Yep.  After reading about yet another round of power-stealing nerfs, I uninstalled the game and started the process of a credit card chargeback.

The drooling idiots at SSG have no fucking clue whatsoever as to what long term plans are, and it’s only a matter of time before those drooling retards steer that short bus of theirs into a dead end alley.
