Next time, try taking your time and thinking it through, Speedy McSpeedface.
I did take my time and think it through. I was very careful and very methodical. What I was doing was checking all of this out so I could share what I learned. I'm just angry that what I learned is "Its shit"
Let's run down what we have:
-When you get it, it has a random set bonus
-You can reroll the Epic version for free at the legacy altar in the 12
-Upgrading from epic to legendary changes sets a random set bonus - NOT WHAT YOU HAD ON EPIC
-The Altar of Legendary Rituals lets you see what bonus you are getting both when you Legend it and when you re-roll it(so you don't waste mats on rerolls, fortunately)
Now for the important bits:
-Keying for crafting changes to a random set bonus
-Rerolling the legendary version erases the crafting key
-Enchanting the item then blanking it again
does not change the set bonus
--The
only way to change the set bonus after its been keyed for crafting is to take it back to the altar, which randomizes the bonus again, and erases the crafting key.
So far as I can tell based on that information - there is no actual way to control the set bonus and have it be keyed for crafting. The only way to get it with a specific set bonus AND keyed would be to have the set bonus you want applied randomly when you key it for crafting. Since the only way to reset it after you've done that is to go to the altar and spend 100 threads of fate, you are fucked.
Now I don't claim to be good at math, but there are 10 first sets and 9 second sets - that means 90 different combinations, correct? Your odds of getting what you want then are 1 in 90, costing 100 threads of fate a throw.
