It bothers me on some fundamental level.   It's feel like we are being placated.  Rather than getting a tangible bonus or item we get a shrunken down monster model pet.  It's cheap and lazy.

They are just throwing stupid shit to grind for at us to distract us from the fact that the game is a mess.

Yes, yes they are, and I've taken the bait, hook line and sinker.

Once I find those last 5 earth eles, I'll commence my grind for that pet. I have found a perfect farming location for them.

I have to agree with Eladiun on this one, the companion rewards do feel a bit lackluster. The only reason I bothered with it was because I was bored, and it was the latest shiny that I hadn't toyed with yet. And it sure is something not everyone has that can be seen easily, I've had a lot of comments about my wraith - at least until they put other colors in the store.

I am starting a new TR project that hopefully will be fun enough, so I won't grind another pet for a while. But again, I had said that I won't farm wraiths, and 4 days later I was at 7000  Embarrassed We've found 27 earth ellies, hopefully with Rodrak's info we'll be able to find enough.
I've been thinking about places to farm them, haven't found better than rainbow, or lord of eyes, not sure which one is best. If you have better than both of those, do share with us, I'm sure a guildy will be interested !

Whoa! I have 25 in my manual, and 26 when I decide to run shroud. I am missing

brimstone earth elemental
huge earth elemental
lava elemental
rubble

Which of those did you find for 27th, and where? Thought huge was just from summon monster 7, but I couldn't kill one in PvP  Undecided Brimstone I thought might be in Ring of Fire challenge, but all I ever got was the named duder not just regular ones. Ran it on CR 25 and CR 15, hoping for a different spawn on different difficulties but no dice.

Lord of eyes was what I was thinking. How long do they take to respawn? 3 seconds? 5? If you have 3 people in there each taking one, you could rack up kills fairly quickly. Rainbow is also good, especially if you're going after rusties at the same time.

Deleras 3 was the best wraith farm? Sad panda I was hoping there would be somewhere better. I even tried killing hirelings to spawn wraiths, but if they don't count as kills in the XP report, they don't count in the MM.

Not entierly sure since we have none of those four, and not even the raging one yet. The list isn't of monsters we have in our monster manual but gotten from searching the wiki, some of them may not count.

I remember farming for earth ellies in Lords of Eyes (for soul gems for addy rituals, that place is even better than Taming the flames), and the respawn rate seemed slow - I was just killing the 3rd when the 1st was respawning.

For wraiths, I don't know if there's better but... it was good enough for me. With my sorc I was doing a full enter/kill/ddoor/reset in 35-40 depending on the run, which averaged at 9.5 kills per minute if I remember correctly ; much better than the 3 kills per minute I managed to get duo farming tomb of the shadow something with respawning monsters on elite.

Oh missing raging too, and one other. I don't have my manual in front of me, and I miscounted elementals  Embarrassed

Would be much easier if mudmen counted as elementals

Oh I'm also missing Bremikite. Haven't seen him spawn in Acid Wit yet. So Him + Shroud Duder = 27.

Do you remember the name of the earth elly at the end of the Lord of Blades ? Thought it'd be a special one but I can't remember, don't see it in my MM even if I ran LoB since U15...

No.

Nope, there's two named earth ellies in Depths and neither is Rubble.

I looked pretty hard for a Rubble (and so have others) and no one's found anything AFAIK.

Rubble sounds very familiar, but I can't place where I've seen it.

DID is pretty low, so if it's appearing anywhere it should be in the oldest content, the starting one... harbor up to tempest spine and threnal. But that's just a guess.
