Quit trolling us:

Quote:
It's not actually stacking, nor is it supposed to- the same temporary SP effect won't stack with itself any more than a Bodyfeeder or other Temporary HP proc will.

How it should essentially function: When you are hit in melee, your next spell costs 2 SP less, because you have 2 Temporary Spell Points which are being consumed as part of the casting cost.

It seems like there's a visual bug that can happen when you're attacked many times in very quick succession, however, which makes it look like it's stacking. I'm forwarding that to the appropriate people to get looked into. Thanks for bringing it up!

My next spell will cost 2 SP less if I get hit?  You have got to be nuts.  Also, turn this into the MELEE item you KNOW it should be.

For fuck's sake.

I fail to see the benefit of 2 fewer spell points above, say character level 5, maybe.

Caster people, what am I missing?

Maybe we're doing it wrong.

Maybe it's a puzzle, and we're supposed to figure out how to build a character such that it would be desirable to have this feature.

It would be like walking the Razor's Edge!

Maybe we're supposed to use rohypnol instead of booze.

There must be a build that casts very frequently and for which 2sp is a significant percentage of the SP pool they'd have when equipping these footies.

The Torc has already been nerfed as a caster item.  It's of almost no use in almost anything up through Epic Hard, and it's near worthless in EE.  (Some melees, such as Paladins, may get some mileage out of it, of course.)  I suppose the new Madstone Boots are for Paladins too.  Free Divine Sacrifice is about all these shit boots are good for, and they aren't good for that either.

Would make a difference on some SLAs, but they are already very cheap to begin with.

No, not really.  An Evocation Archmage would never want to get hit in EE.  And in EH, if you need 2 SP per hit, you already failed at life.  WF AM's are already royally Fortification screwed compared to a Pale Master. (The same points apply to sorcies.) The last thing they want is to be taking hits in EE for 2 temporary SP.  This gear was born in Feather's rectum, and it clawed its way into the world out of his ass.

Indeed.

2 temporary, non-stacking HP that serve no purpose other than to reduce the cost of the very next spell.

I challenge anyone to devise a build in which this feature is desirable when sober.

OK, good - I thought it was just me since I don't play enough casters.  Reminded me a lot of regenerating items... remember those?  WHOOT!  +2 HP every hour and a half or whatever it is?  Awesome stuff.

It is a metaphore.

Boots are always a symbol of repression. He denounces the repressive world we are living in, with the oppresive social rules that prohibit him to go crazy anal with scarf and beret.

Today I was abused atheistically.  Cry

I joined a party of TR for Raiyum, the wizard king, and they got lost and got killed.
I was hoping to pike happily, and then nothing.
Life is hard.
