So I've been toying with an idea for a twf as well. Dwarf 9/8/3 Fighter/Ranger/Monk. Character I intend to inflict this on has mostly plus 3 tomes - I plan on it being max strength, 14 starting dex to qualify for Greater TWF. Only one past life - ranger.

Highlights:
Centered D-axes with a x7 critical multiplier in LD (Headmans chop etc)
95 non equipment based positive spellpower (7 action points) plus a few more from spellcraft and INT bonus
Empower heal
45 PRR before gear - Earth stance in grandmaster form, iron skin, Two weapon defense, Tempest improved parrying (a steep cost of a feat and  6 AP for the last 15, but it can be fit in)
7 bonus feats from fighter and monk, plus the autogrants from ranger
100% offhand proc

Downside:
Only 10% innate healing amp
Low innate doublestrike
Evasion only, not Improved Evasion with a 40ish reflex save
Single Target DPS - the single target will die fast, but the lack of hitting everything else in the area hurts
General lack of dwarven axes other than lootgen that are worth a fuck.

Purchased feats will include Greater TWF, possibly Oversized TWF, Two weapon defense (just to squeeze out the last bit of PRR), Empower Heal, Magical Training, Cleave, Great Cleave
Epic feats include Overwhelming critical, Perfect TWF, Blinding Speed

So its a bit of a niche build. It should perform well in boss fights and also when you have to take down a caster or casters quickly. General trash clearing it should be OK but nothing to write home about - unless you like letters about killing things one at a time.

Please trash as needed, I'd like the input.

You can get Magical Training for 4 AP in the AA tree (third rank of extra SP, T1)

Yes, it works.

8 -> 9 fighter = +1 reflex & will + 10hp
3 -> 4 monk = +1 all saves +2% dodge + 8hp

I'd go for an 8/8/4.  9th fighter seems stupid.

Good call on 8/8/4. I started off 12/6/2 and was backing off levels from fighter. Stopped when I had gotten a couple things I knew I wanted. Should've kept going.

On the AA magic training, I don't know if I have the AP to spend. I will recalculate to see what I do have. I'm locked into 33 in Kensei and at least 14 Shintao, 7 Deepwood, 10 Tempest, plus would get 3% dodge and 3 reflex from 4 in Ninja Spy. But there are a lot of better feat choices, and tbh I might not even need it - at 12 sp a pop I can manage enough spell points to use cocoon often enough and have silver flame pots for backup. Hell, the archivist clicky would be enough for three or four uses.

hm interesting, I also have a (gimp ass) drow paladin, might be a good idea to lr him into something like that.....hmmmmmm......

If Turbine ever gets off their lazy asses and gives us the Racial PrE's that they initally promised, I was thinking of LRing my Drow Fighter to 15 Monk/5 Fighter.  (The idea of a “Quivering Rapier” build sounds funny.)

I've currently turned my level 20 tempest ranger dwarf build into a 12/4/4 Ranger/fighter/paladin build.  I'll be swapping around to 14/2/4 at a future date, so that I can self cast my own freedom and get jump/resist/ram's might all at once.

I'd claim that I'm using dwarven axes, but I'd be lying.  The ax of adaxus(usable by any melee character) is superior in every way to any named dwarven ax in the game right now.

I'm okay with the dps..  Survivability is good with some self healing...  And I'm still pissed off that there isn't a named dwarven ax that can supass a named battleax.

I'm the 'sharans(Osharan, Asharan, Osharina, Asharina, etc.) And Epoxy. And Notverysexy.

I'm about to try the dorf version...  I've had a d-axe wielding Exploiter on the shelf at 12th level for about two years, and luckily for me I made the stupid decision to make him Lawful at the time.  This'll be the first +20 heart I use  Wink

N-n-n-n-NECRO!

If going D-Axe dwarf, is it worthwhile trying to get THF feats in here too, for better glancing blow damage?  Or is that just too high an opportunity cost in terms of feats?

Yeah, I know I was going to do the dwarf TWF thing months ago; I've just had a lot going on  Wink

You don't get glances dual wielding, if that's what you mean.

That is exactly what I meant...

Well damn.  I was sure I remembered getting glancing blows from D-axes on my exploiter dwarf back in the day.  :/

Ah well, thanks for saving me some effort!  Cool
