Interesting. Now the official forums seem to be down again.

They're trying pretty hard to sink that ship, don't they?

Seems to be all Turbine sites.

Holy shit, they didn't forget to renew their DNS again, right?  'cause that would be completely out of character....

From what I've seen at first it looked like a load balancer or a router that went wonky...

Now if they are like many companies nowadays, they have one big router/loadbalancer, and if that thing goes wonky, everything will be impacted sooner or later. ( it depends on the architecture of the best, some linecards might last longer than others. )

Instead of having separate boxes for each functions that is...

Oh also all the traces I've seen tells me that Turbine does not have any kind of redundancy in their network architecture... for something that is supposed to be up 24/7/365 it's just a Fail ^10.
( ok, they don't need a 99.999% uptime redundancy, but some cold standby systems might be useful )

Can't blame this one on Verizon.

This looks internal to me.

Flav, you know Turbine does not build in redundancy.   Turbine's network engineers all went to the Three Finger Salute school, when in doubt reboot.

Since rebooting isn't working they have no idea what to do.

Defintely internal... well internal as in PNAP Boston Data center, in the Turbine Address Range, beyond the Border PNAP router and the Border Turbine Router.

And from the look at things ( on/off website, on/off auth... ) it really looks like a loadbalancer that went belly up and the other one being unable to take up the load.

Nothing from @producerglin, despite prodding...  Meanwhile, I handle "emergency" calls for work this weekend...

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

Good news!

Quote:
The good news is that the cause of the problem has been discovered through one of Turbine’s affiliated connection providers and steps are being taken to address the issue by the provider.

Oh wait, that's from last months connectivity issues, not this months connectivity issues.  Never mind...
