thanks. that's really helpful to read. this statement from a poster was good:
"
I think the use of the word "representative" in the official announcement was unfortunate and easily misinterpreted. The Player Council is meant to be a representative group of the player base in as much as there are some PvPers, some RPers, some casual, some more hardcore etc... I don't think it means "representative" in the way that you are describing.
"
I think they need to make that clearer over in DDO. Of course I don't 'represent' anyone. But I care about my friends and guildies and channel people and some of the really nice puggers I meet who I hope will continue playing the game. So I'm going to take the things that they care about and fight hard for them at the appropriate times against the occasional craziness that Turbine occasionally creates that leaves us going "wtf?"
I'm looking forward to the PC because it appears to be from the application example the type of work I like doing in real life work. Unpaid and repeatedly stated that it will not be remunerated in any form.
Am I the best person from the job? idk. I have some skills and some communication ability. I've got the job now though and I'm just going to do the best I can. Some of my friends think I'm a good choice and that's enough encouragement for me.
I wonder if all the fuss about the PC is just distracting from what is happening with Lamm? There are some fantastic posters on the Lamm forums and Turbine seems to be changing things and definitely acting on feedback. And there is all the transparency over there.
And yes I have read the vault a little bit over the last year just as a guest. Usually when some major gossip was going down and I wanted to see if anyone knew anything, like about outages or whatever

. It just didn't seem very 'transparent' though to be reading this thread and not pop in and say "HI!" so I made another account rather than reactive my choned Scaredycat one.
And I fully expected no welcome

Go go the Lamm forums!
