So far people who have selfidentified or used the words 'we' or 'us' when referring to JPC:

Flav
Terebithria
Fawn (silverleafeon)
Ironclan
Halfeal
Coldin
Franohmsford
TrinityTurtle
MadCookieQueen (goes back and forth with the 'us')
DanDonk
Andoris
Marten
Melicat
Micki
Fhtagn
Grecan
MugginsMai

possible:
Deadlock

Dicklock doesn't specifically say it, but he's crusading hard for the JPC and the NDA.  it's possible he's just a moron.

self-id as not on council:

Teth
Thrudh
Mattmatt70
Postumus
Ungood
Myrddinman
Muleaxe

Thanks for pulling this together - was getting hard to track.

Another good one from the LOTRO thread about their player council last year:

Quote:
Quite frankly the player council could comprise the CEO of WB's milkman, the paper boy and the cat who pops around for a saucer of milk every so often, given that we have absolutely no means to determining independently the contribution that it makes.

but take heart DDOers!  we've got GERALDO heading up the DDO PC so I'm sure it will be completely different than LOTRO's.

no problemo!  if the JPC is only 20-30 players total, we could be looking at most of the council right there.

Some great postings on LOTRO's Players Council that pretty much say what we already figured out. A shit idea in LOTRO is a shit idea in DDO.

and

LOTRO thread on PC and "transparency"
https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?535849-Player-Council-2014-lessons-t...

thanks. that's really helpful to read. this statement from a poster was good:

"
I think the use of the word "representative" in the official announcement was unfortunate and easily misinterpreted. The Player Council is meant to be a representative group of the player base in as much as there are some PvPers, some RPers, some casual, some more hardcore etc... I don't think it means "representative" in the way that you are describing.
"

I think they need to make that clearer over in DDO.  Of course I don't 'represent' anyone. But I care about my friends and guildies and channel people and some of the really nice puggers I meet who I hope will continue playing the game. So I'm going to take the things that they care about and fight hard for them at the appropriate times against the occasional craziness that Turbine occasionally creates that leaves us going "wtf?"

I'm looking forward to the PC because it appears to be from the application example the type of work I like doing in real life work. Unpaid and repeatedly stated that it will not be remunerated in any form.

Am I the best person from the job? idk. I have some skills and some communication ability. I've got the job now though and I'm just going to do the best I can. Some of my friends think I'm a good choice and that's enough encouragement for me.

I wonder if all the fuss about the PC is just distracting from what is happening with Lamm? There are some fantastic posters on the Lamm forums and Turbine seems to be changing things and definitely acting on feedback.  And there is all the transparency over there.

And yes I have read the vault a little bit over the last year just as a guest. Usually when some major gossip was going down and I wanted to see if anyone knew anything, like about outages or whatever Cheesy. It just didn't seem very 'transparent' though to be reading this thread and not pop in and say "HI!" so I made another account rather than reactive my choned Scaredycat one.

And I fully expected no welcome Cheesy

Go go the Lamm forums!

There is no best person for the job.  it's window dressing.  you're a body filling a virtual chair.

Love this quote from a member of the LOTRO 2013 council

Quote:
As a member of the council I can not discuss what is being discussed, how we discuss it or why.

The first error was making a PC.  It will be a downward spiral from there.  Some of them have already shown they have no idea how to communicate effectively in a forum format.

Derp.

I thought about applying, but didn't in the end, partly due to the fact I don't spend that much time in game anymore, partly because I don't want the hassle.

Correct your work.

This is the error. Cheesy  ( while it would have been nice to have Tere in the Council )
There might be one or two other, but I'm too lazy to cross check.

Fucking hell.

An NDA is completely and utterly required.

It's so fucking self evident it doesn't need any justification.

possibly.  with the exception of Tere, everyone else on that list has stated in one thread or another in the motherfuckinforums that they are on the council or implied they are.

but people lie.  and some people are so stupid they don't know the difference between the personal pronouns 'we' and 'they.'
