It's going to be the tanking/defensive tree.  It's been alluded to for a long time, and Jerry mentioned it as one of the class elements being worked on in 2018.

Looking at the PC preview is just an exercise in anger management.  Because when it's released to players on Lam, it will be different than what is posted because of PC feedback.  You know, by people that have no clue how to make builds and react to mechanics emotionally.

Don't be so sure, sometimes you see what we see exactly.  PC members cover all types, I am a builder.  And I am telling you this tree will shake everything up.  You will understand soon, unless they change it.

finally got around to leveling and flagging my tree for strahd. seems that off hand weapon counts as its own attack. you can test this easily by fighting the abbot in the abbey, which has evil dr. i thought equipping one evil weapon and a different weapon would allow me to break dr, but it turns out the attacks are calculated separately. so, in order to break dr the tree must have both weapons of appropriate dr breakers.

I don't think naming names would be a good thing for me to do, but I'd pretty much add anyone who's a know-it-all dick on the list. Even if they are sometimes intelligent with their opinions, the way they state them in long, "i'm a lawyer at trial"-type posts makes me want to punch them in the face. They act like whiney babies with god complexes and then freak out if someone so much as breathes criticism in their direction.

For dr breaking situations I usually equip 2 EE foresters brush hooks. Metaline and aligned.  Works fine as my tree has monk in it.

But honestly, dr generally isn’t a huge issue.  Can still hit mobs like the end archon in Archons Trial for 2k+ per hit without DR breaks.

What’s strahd’s total DR?

Never mind, they added no tree form among other changes.

Handwraps or double weapon?

Do you know which is the real difference dmg wise?

Of course you may get more benefits from prefixes etc, but dmg wise, what does it change?

So far, what are the changes to tree form in u38?

Loss of Mp from monk splash.
Gain of MP from primal avatar tree
Loss of offhand hits in tree form? Is that going to be effective in U38?
What else?

So far no animation fix on lam.
So far no change on weapon damage/crit profile changes.

I did a bunch of testing in the first lama tour.  Didn’t seem like any big differences.  Maybe a slight decrease in DPS, but it was minimal at best. 3-4% on average

Why losing offhand hits?

And bonus to melee damage while moving?  Is that applicable to the cleaves and quick attacks when applied to twf style?
