Honestly, you have never seen public exchanges DDF and Subscriber Frames...
There's nothing scary ( beside the fact that you might get your feet entangled in some of the cables and pull them out ) in any of the pictures...
It's just how things are done in the IT world... The Telecom world is... worse... because we do it bigger and with smaller cables.
Take barkabout yellow wires... quadruple the lenght of the row, triple the height, and you have a subscriber frame for a public exchange...
replace the yellow wire by a single swisted pair [ red/white ] wrapped at each end.

Trust me, unless you have the documents to find your way into it, you will not find the correct cable... Been there, done that, spend a fucking afternoon follwonig two pairs through a building during an afternoon ( because the fucking document was wrong ).
From the outside it might look ordered, but in fact it's a fucking mess, worse than the yellow spaghettis barkabout posted.
