I would encourage you to also look into the very popular and extremely easy to dominate Xbow builds Including:
-18Rogue/Whatever
-20 Rogue
-14Pally/5Rogue/1 Whatever
These dominate hard and can do so without as many past lives or top end gear unlike some throwers.

18 or 20 Rogue is strong from start to finish. Pally version isn't good til later levels but surpasses the Rogue versions by end game.

Except that I have a pally version and when I group with the rogue versions (leveling--particularly 13-19) they tend to die about 3 times as often as I do.
I'm not that great of a player either. Could be they aren't geared/played well. But, if they get surrounded by mobs, they're toast. AC+PRR+MRR seems to help mitigate that even when swarmed at times.
Of course, the solution for the rogue is "kite better", I suppose.
A half-dozen boss Vaulties donated generously with real money to my classroom during a fundraiser in May 2015 to get poor kids books to read. I won't forget that. They know who they are, and they freaking rule.

No, you're right on both. Rogue is squishier, but yes, they should kite better.
There's also nothing stopping them from strapping on heavy armor.

You lose Holy Sword which is one of the only reasons to take so many Paladin levels.
Do not try the patience of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.
We are dreamers, shapers, singers, and makers. We study the mysteries of laser and circuit, crystal and scanner, holographic demons and invocation of equations. These are the tools we employ, and we know many things.

holy sword is better for repeaters. You get way more dps with rogue 20, but better healing, saves, and heavy armor using 15 pally.

I know a guy that broke the mile record at his high school. Does that mean I should wear the shoes that he wore to run the fastest?

keep trying analogies that dont work.
Goldy is far better than you. Nice try, but repeater is where it's at. Unless you dont want to set speed run records and make a fool of yourself on the vault's build section

Do you know what causation is?
He might well be better than me. He might be that much better at gaming than anyone else who has ever bothered to attempt a solo FoT that he can set the record with a second-best weapon choice. Seriously, how many people attempt to solo EE FoT? I know I'm not going to on a character without maxed EPLs. That makes it not a very good DPS test, no?

Youre assuming he never tested gxbows, ever, once, in any capacity and just randomly decided to take the first light repeater he saw and YOLO his way to 15minutes.
I am assuming he tested both and decided L.Repeater is what gives him the best chance at record time.
