Actually, if I'm following the drama correctly, Gawna later pieced together that Scrotie was Arkat via IP addresses and stainer merely confirmed what she already saw and what he had figured out because Arkat straight up told him.
Just sayin. I could be wrong, too, but I'm pretty sure that's what's up.

Oh, yeah, that could be. Even less leg now.
You guys have good points and I considered this.
Let's just say all this is mostly accurate by saying 2 months after I, in confidence, confirmed to stainer the Scrotie account was my alt account, Gawna started to suspect the truth on her own.
The fact remains she
did ask stainer if I was also Scrotie so she wasn't absolutely sure.
So let's just say she said something like, "Hey stainer, I suspect Scrotie McBoogerballs is Arkat. Is that right?" or, "Hey stainer, is Arkat also Scrotie McBoogerballs because I suspect he is."
The best response to the question (in either case) from stainer would have been, "Gawna, you should probably ask Arkat yourself."
Sure I probably wouldn't have come out and admitted it right away if she had sent a PM to my Arkat account. Instead I would probably have asked, "What makes you think that?" Assuming she explained the whole IP thing I probably would have admitted it.
The best thing about that one possibly course of action, stainer would have kept my confidence and I would have been happy to say I could trust him and call him "friend."
Instead, what we have now is very different.
So I guess, looking at it from a certain point of view one could argue about how much betrayal there actually was but from my point of view violating trust is HUGE. Maybe I'm a little too rigid regarding that but over the last 20 years or so, I have NEVER told anyone anyone else's secrets. I did let one slip when I was drunk in the Fall of 1991 at a tavern but it was accidental and I owned up to it as soon as I was asked about it. I immediately told the guy I was really really sorry and today, he is still one of my best friends.
So no, I don't take violations of trust lightly no matter how trivial they might seem to be.
Now, I'm through with defending myslf here in this thread. If you want to talk to me or yell at me or whatever, I'll be glad to talk to you in Vent, Teamspeak, DDO Voicechat, or whatever.
I've figured out cannot convey the sincereness or conviction of my position well enough with just the written word. Just come talk to me.
Thanks all.
