I haven't canceled anything from DDO, but I haven't played in just over a month.  I just don't want to play DDO right now even though I want to want to play.  If that makes sense.

cant you find a couple unsecured wifi networks in range?  Grin

a.) I live in a neighborhood full of old retired people. Even older than stainer, if you can believe that. No one has wifi

b.) I don't have a wireless card on my computer, because I'm cheap.

c.) I live in a brick house. When I had internet set up with wifi for my PS3 2 rooms over, I had signal troubles. I can't imagine what kind of shitty signal I'd get from a neighbor.

d.) I used to be VIP, so half my characters would be locked even if I could log in. (no helf, no monk, no wf) Also no shared bank, no elite unlocking, plat cap.

I can send you an internal isa wifi card, and teach you how to make a cantenna that will allow you to steal wifi from the international space station.

Not really the space station, but it has hella long range.

I can also teach you how to make a secure wifi router not so secure.

If anybody is interested in purchasing Warforged, that page shows Warforged priced at a 40% discount, not 25% as it advertises.

Just saying.

I hate those cars.

If you know anyone that owns one, tell them TO QUIT DRIVING IN THE PASSING LANE 20 MPH UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT. I know how to do a "pit maneuver" and have no problem dumping them in the median on their roof.

No problem at all.

Stainer, you could do those things, and even send him a Cantenna already assembled and cabled, but it wouldn't address the underlying issue that maintaining an internet connection at home isn't a priority.

Does Internet cost more than $100/month?

If it were important, there are legal methods of creating enough additional cash inflow to support a $100/month habit.

I wouldn't suggest anyone get a second job for the purposes of supporting a DDO habit - doing so would interfere with game play time!

I remember quite a few of my college friends selling Plasma.

It sounds like Rest is not motivated to maintain an internet connection at home.

Rest, I wish you well and am glad you will continue to contribute to The Vault.

Far be it from me to defend someone on the Vault, but when you are struggling financially there are a LOT of things that an extra $100/month could go toward, and there's a good chance that many of those things will be a higher priority than internet for gaming.  I doubt that he's perfectly fine and just can't afford internet anymore.  I expect that he can't afford a lot of things anymore.

No, internet is pretty cheap, but I'm in a financial crunch right now after some unexpected expenses. Well that and my piss-poor money management skills Grin

I'd love to have internet, and it's gonna suck having to go over to a friend's house to pay my bills online (I only write 2 checks a month - gas and water) but at least I have that option.

I've been applying for seasonal work, not just to support my crippling DDO addiction, but because it's always nice to have money.  I am more motivated to keep the gas, electric and water on in my house than I am to pay for internet. Plus maybe I can get out from under my DDO Stockholm Syndrome if I don't play for a couple of months  Wink

In other news, does anyone wanna buy a Gigabyte motherboard? Never used since I bought one back in April with the wrong socket size because I'm a noob. I can get the exact model and specs if anyone is actually interested.

Or a pair of Beats headphones I won in a contest at work? Studio version.

Holla at me.
