Is there one?

I thought that there was supposed to be an npc somewhere with a turn in mechanic for the Gold Seal Healing Elixirs.  Anyone seen them anywhere?

Not 'gold seal', but you can get some of the lower tiers of the new healing pots.

I believe the trader in Red Fens has some of them.

Lordsmarch, the guy that takes swaying mushroom spores pods takes two of those for the greater elixir of healing. Also, the emerald claw guy in Necropolis takes vol prayer charms for greaters.

The improved you can get from polished ore, scholarly notes, house sealed letters, intact spore pods, planar spoor, glass phials, and maybe a few others.

Moderates - great for low levels on a TR are available from nearly everyone for stuff like funerary tokens, signets of the devourer, wavecrasher manifests etc.

Cooldown is twice the time for ingame acquired vs storebought.

Woodblossom nectar tradein is supposed to have been changed to a potion of panacea.

Honestly, whoever made the changes to collectables did some damned nice things for BYOH options. Some of the best changes to promote self sufficiency in the game in some time.

Have the costs dropped to reasonable levels though?

I mean if you need 15-20 of the damned things for one pot still it's just plain worthless.

I have to say that I don't know myself as I haven't taken a look at the new vendors in any way since they updated them.

thanks.

WOW I can't believe they actually corrected that one.

It's a freaking miracle.

The U17 change to collectible turn-in rates was poorly executed. This was widely publicized.

The U18 release notes regarding the correction are:

Quote:
Other Changes
  • It is now possible to view the character creation options for classes you do not own. You can now make customization choices, appearance choices, etc prior to making a decision to purchase a race or class.
  • Daily Dice now offers some new prize options, such as Skill Tomes and Glamored Armors!
  • Adjusted many collectible turn-ins to more reasonable prices.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause inconsistent results when monsters detect noises (such as an invisible player who is not sneaking.) Monsters should once again move to the location of the noise and look around, without aggro, unless they can see through a character's Hide or Invisibility.

It's no surprise that this didn't get a lot of attention. Lots of people stopped looking at the prices of collectible turn-in rewards after U17's changes, even though it was stated that the exchange rates would be revisited in U18.

They certainly missed an opportunity to undo some of the damage they did with the avoidably poor change to the barter box UI in U17 and at the same time garner some good will.

It would have been a lot better still if they'd gotten the pricing in the barter box right the first time.

they will probably congratulate themselves on how long they "kept it going" never able to see that it could have easily managed to keep itself going for far longer if they had just meddled far less drastically and with some semblance of an actual gameplan.

Man I even read those notes and completely missed that.

I agree though they had a SHIT TON of warning that the rates were stupid high both in the Lam forums, the regular forums, and bug reports on Lam and it still went through.

Now they need to visit the collectibles turn in on the Silver Roll.  Currently I would rather be rolling Plat that either the collectibles or the crafting as the 1k plat can buy far more of them than I get in the roll.

If the collectibles say gave you 10+d10 of whatever it was and the Crafting was 5+d4 (greater) 100+d20 (lesser) they would certainly be "winning" something AND more valuable than the 1k or so Plat.

I've gotten a +1 Charisma tome on my last two daily silver rolls.

Not that I want them, but it's always fun to get a tome.

Frick me I wish.

I literally haven't rolled higher than collectibles (and by far mostly Plat) in 21 rolls and counting.

I really hoped that some Karma was going to win me a jackpot on that 21st roll.  Instead I got a Silver Bowl (whoopie).
