So the rogue pass looks pretty worthless. I'll probably pick up Assassin's Trick, when I rework the AP, but I don't see any other changes happening with this build.
I guess I might test out the new Measure the Foe.

In case you hadn't noticed, apparently Turbine stealth-nerfed helpless sneak attack damage last update...so this build is shelved for now.

I mean the chances are slimmer than turbines QA budget, but if the new Lethality works unarmed it might be an avenue.

Whirlwind is great for unarmed, but cleaves are bad for sneak attack. Also, where the hell would I pull 4 feats from?

I took another look at this build to reinvestigate the issue. After a fresh ER, I went out and punched some stuff for ~50 base damage and ~100 SA damage. After stunning this went to ~200 base and ~100 SA (Non-crit. Stunned crit was 5-600). I had No Mercy and Sense Weakness on for +110% helpless damage, but theres no way that quadruples the base damage. I suspect that the nerf didn't happen, the game just started graphically adding the extra SA damage to the base number for some reason. (The combat log does not distinguish, it reports the sum of base +SA as one line.)
With this in mind I'm inclined to remake the build (probably needs fighter levels now) but based on prior performance I expect it to be too squishy for endgame EE's without heavy past life investment in PRR and HP.

I did some more testing. I think I'm going to need to give up on unarmed combat and go with short swords for this build and rely solely on Balanced Attacks for helplessness.
Keeping Stunning Fist endgame relevant is consuming too many build/gear resources and switching to weapons opens up ninja poison, assassin venom, and ToEE melee power.

Yeah. My final remaining (melee) monk agrees and has picked up shortswords. It's almost like someone tried to warn Egodrin during the enhancement p-arse that he was fucking up Monks and he wouldn't listen.
Even spamming DoD and SF/others makes it, well, not as good as most other melee. The big question for me is will they balance it back to reasonably ok before they shut the doors...?

Glass cannons are in style since LE is often a rez scroll circle jerk. Gnome adds crit range to shortswords. Level 30 adds cool stuff.

Rogue past life

I like the idea, though trying to figure out what this buys you instead of just going full blown Rogue 20 Assassin.
Well, I see what it buys you, I guess I'm weighing that vs. what you'd be getting as a full blown 20 Rogue Assassin. Some minor defensive enhancements, 20% more chance for offhand hit, Helpless damage (which I am not really a fan of)....
Full rogue might give more crit multiplier if using daggers, SA dice roughly even.....I haven't math'd this up yet, but am I missing some obvious advantage to your build over a full rogue? Or is it really just a flavor thing to take advantage of Deep Gnome's synergy with short swords and Monk Ninja

That's fair, the damage is probably more. Pure assassin has a lot going for it in the 18 and 20 cores.
It's mainly about defenses. Probably the biggest thing is saves. Pure is 6/12/6 base. This build is 15/19/13 in water stance. and nets 7 more dodge. Throw in a few more HP, and 2 second cooldown Deflect Arrows, extra feats, concentration and heal as full rank skills, and a little bit of heal amp and positive spell power.
