Well if Varg is the place holder, I guess that means he won't get the gig right?
Here is an idea, how about they get a producer from a successful game company?
If this is true, and not wishful thinking.... (dreams can come true....)

If nothing else changes, then no successful Producer is going to touch the role.
Why?
1. It's a dead end job in failing product in a failing company.
2. They would need to move to Boston - not sure Boston is the hub of software development? (yes, I know there are a few studios)
3. Turdbine aren't renowned for paying well.
4. Both DDO and LOTRO are under resourced, with ridiculous milestone timelines forcing them to pump out incomplete product.
5. Going by anecdotal reports of those who have left, the company is cheap as - no budget for anything including equipment.
Whilst individually these might not dissuade some people, all those factors combined make a pretty appalling proposition.
My guess is they'll assign some poor bastard from within WB as part of their long term managerial development.
Probably someone's corporate golden child where the role is seen as a no lose situation:
1. If the person succeeds and turns DDO around, then they're a legend.
2. If they fail and DDO dies, then it was a lame duck anyway, so all is golden.
Interesting times.
I would like to see a new Producer from outside the Turdbine structure with a plan and a budget to make a difference. I'd support that.
Given the corporate mandate to go mobile, I don't see it happening though.
