A little different approach here. Some old things, some new things.

Know that I am not interested in conserving SP. I have stacks of pots in the bank and I intend to use them. If you don't have pots/baubles/RoSS/cider/etc then this is not the build for you. (Or you'd need to do it a little differently, at least.)

I'm not bothering with broken Tea. I know, I know, but if they fix it, I'll swap it in.

Constructive criticism and gear recommendations welcome.

~10 additional levels of sorcerer and the only thing you're getting over a deeper splash is meteor swarm.  Thats a lot to give up, in terms of raw DPS (archmage). 

41 AP for 47 spellpower in harper?  1.15 spellpower per AP - seems like a bad deal.

If the goal is a build that utilizes the harper tree, that's fine.  If the goal is a build that maximizes USP, then drop the Harper tree, add more levels of wizard and spend more points in AM.  You will end up with more USP.

No shiradi builds are coming close to the undead version. The way the game snapshots auras is ridiculous. Joy can be snapshot, indulgence buff can be snapped, lgs vacuum can be snapped, lgs radiance can be snapped and all at once. Even without all those, just using Arcane Supremacy+Wellspring+Empyrean+Spell boost+potions makes for insane healing. Same thing for the fvs archon, but this is aoe, non-evadable and can have lesser death+death running concurrently with all the buffs.

But seriously though, Having done a UMD-self healing life it was definitely not "a'ight". Haven't tried Cocoon or Spring yet, though. Guess I'll be giving it a test-drive on my next flesh-life.

I was quite surprised to find the Palemaster self-healing more than adequite, the one downside is no one can help you. I think I prefer positive energy/bluebar healing, hands down.

That is neat and I plan to insist it is WAI.

After all, why shouldn't it be? You pay the mana at the time you cast the spell, not as the aura is ticking down. Why shouldn't it hold the same spellpower as when you cast it?

I want a shiradi sorc with Meteor Swarm. What do you consider the best way to do that?

I was considering dropping points from Harper, EK, AM to get Fire Savant up to 21 and even dropping Energy Burst for Evocation Familiarity. (Or maybe a 4/4/3 combo, EB, Evo Fam, Empyrean.)

not really sure, 5. havent played 18 levels of sorc/wiz outside of heroics.

prolly a dc build then, in air savant for chain lit. having a rotation of cm, chain, swarm for distance aoe. swarm maxes out at cl 11 anyway.

I'd rather go full retard fire savant then and just not run Shroud on that character then.

yeah, true. but there are also a few other quests like amrath and devil gambit chains. Chain Lit is decent. IDK how many targets it caps at or how large the aoe is. I have it on my wiz shiradi but never tested to see.

I literally only play sorcerers and wizards in ddo since I started.  He past few updates have pushed the power balance heavily in favor of wizards. 
I don't believe Sorcs cast rate is twice as fast, especially with quicken.  There is a universal cool down after every spell.  Go ahead and record cast rate spamming times. It's actually not a huge difference as you might think,especially since wizard gets slas to double up missile spam.   Meanwhile, Wizards are getting way better enhancements and perks and way higher crit damage and crit chance.  MOK alone is roughly equivalent to ~300 spell power. 

Epic spells ruin, greater ruin, hellball means that innate casting times matter even less than they did before.  It's not a coincidence that the highest dps caster is a sorcerer with wizard splash for enhancements.  But if you had to choose between one or the other, it should be fairly obvious that wizard comes out on top by a mile.

I have a 17 wiz / 2 fvs / 1 barb atm

am very happy with it.

single target it is a little below the 10/6/4 sorc/wiz/fvs
and runs out of sp faster

aoe is much better though

Meteor swarm = win

It's more like 25% if both quicken everything, but that's still huge.

try not dying so much
the aoe one gives multiple stacks but has to pass the dc check or something

do breakables as you're going along,
alot of times you can get 15 stacks in a second
