You, like the rest of us except Frank, understand that the average DDO player will have access to some, even if minimal, resources for a first life toon and will be on friendly enough terms with enough people/guildies to do some occasional grouping to get other gear even if the toon primarily solos.
Poor Mookie doesn't read English, or understand it. When the premise is set that the character must
solo, he thinks that being dragged along as dead weight in
groups hoping for drops that other people earn for him is all fair and good for equipping his character.
Because that's how he and Rubbins play the game, I guess. And with that mind set it's really easy to see why they don't think that LH can be hard for a first life unequipped character. They don't really play against the game at that difficulty level, they let others do it for them and wait for the XP and loot scraps to fall their way.
