Some arrogant prick (yet again!) insisted on pushing a patch to "solve" some pathing issues and created even more issues. They were told it just needed to be rebooted and things would be okay (I picture Kevin Bacon at end of Animal House)…. how many weeks in a row before they actually got to back that patch out?
It is amazing alpha testing of background type patches goes straight onto production.
This sort of contempt for the customer has not been "startlingly impressive" for a long long time. Instead of "amazing", I suggest "embarrassing" and "nauseating" and "rude".
Shoving another new, broken, untested system down the throats of the peasants who can't possibly appreciate how uniquely challenging the environment of DDO is for its overworked and under appreciated rockstars should be no surprise to anyone.
Quote:WAAAHHHHH!!! IT'S NOT MY FAULT!
IT'S BECAUSE TANGLED CODE FROM THE PAST!
MADE BY THE ROCKSTARS FROM BEFORE!
THAT ROCKSTARS CAN'T BE ASSED TO REFACTOR!
EVER!
BECAUSE IT'S SUPER DUPER HARD!
AND MY NEW SYSTEM IS BESTEST! ME ME ME ME!
AND WE'RE DEFINITELY NOT ROLLING BACK MY SUPER AWESOME NEW SYSTEM!
BECAUSE IT'S DEFINITELY NOT MY FAULT THAT MY NEW SYSTEM BREAKS ANYTHING!!!
ROCKSTARS.

How many weeks did these clowns leave Update 5's damage (which included hireling problems that were very similar to this shit) in place before they released an update to start addressing them?
(Hint, it was 8 weeks - June 28 until Aug 17)
