So, apparently, ddowiki needs an article about duping.
http://ddowiki.com/page/Duplication

I've started with some introductory information, and I've found and linked the Extreme Prejudice post. Unfortunately, I am not an expert on the topic, so I seek help.

I don't think we need more information about the how-to. Please no step by step procedures. But what might be interesting is a historical list of notable duping periods, the level of widespreadness, and maybe impact on game economy...

Being that people can add/subtract from Ddo wiki.  Keeping idiots from posting the methods will be difficult.  Asking people not to, but leaving the option available will more than likely not achieve your goals of not posting them.

How bout you just post it here somewhere? You will be increasing the chance some idiot ruins it for the rest of us.  That is when there is a working exploit. Which of course, there are none now.

Some of us here actually in the past, maybe even the present, have had hands in "helping" others.  You will be kicking all of them in the balls if this goes badly.

well, admins of the wiki (like me) can lock an article; this is used for example in case of an edit war. also, we can make the editing of an article available only to the administration, which might be a good idea. we can also delete (hide) a particular historical edit of an article, so that any problematic contribution is gone from page history as well.

I'm sure it can, but putting that info on ddowiki you are exponentially increasing the chances of exploits release to many more people. How many come here versus the MB's?

So, the article is now protected! Perhaps it does not need more information after all.

Anyway, what's this team sorcerer thing? Is this about Snootch? Good news: He is no longer against heavy fortification; actually he likes it improved.

Speaking of Snootch, does he have a current DDO forum account? If so, what is the name?

I think a better addition would be classic Turbine blunders/famous glitches.

Like when they rolled out the update that cleared all amenities off the airships.  Pissed some people off, but most were like 'ok, they couldn't see it coming, shit happens - as long as it doesn't happen again.'

Next patch - same thing happens again.  Everyone throws a fit but, some how, are confident there's no way they'd make the same stupid mistake three times in a row.

Next patch - three for three Tongue

Turbine policy - glitches and poor coding resulting in interference of your game play or enjoyment will be ignored.  Glitches or poor coding on the developers side that at all benefit your game play or enjoyment will result in your character being banned and/or items from your inventory deleted.  Please report all bugs via our bug report...when it works.

Don't forget the Raider's Reward box.    Cheesy
How long did they deny there was a problem, despite the growing shitstorm on the forums?  It was like watching a train wreck in slow mo.

Eventually they realised they had to do something, which they did - free raid loot - wtf were they thinking?
They then borked up the distribution, so they had to give out a another one.  That almost singlehandedly killed the CITW raid.
Even then, there's been ongoing problems with the box giving the wrong item like there is an odd table reference issue.

GJ Turdbine.  I did wonder how they spun that one internally?

A timeline of blunders would be a great way to shine a light on Turbine's many avoidable but still repeated gaffs.

Once such a timeline were well fleshed out, linkages between similar blunders could be highlighted and their underpinnings discussed.

The domain name expiration has to be the most glaring example of Turbine's incompetence.

That could be quite useful.

I'd like to see a timeline of bugs, too, showing when it was first publicly reported, when it was acknowledged, and when it was fixed. It would have to use a combination of numbers and letters, though, as so many bugs re-surface repeatedly. Maybe a pair of letters, as we already  have more updates than letters in the alphabet.

I seriously considered pitching that as a community project about a year ago (when I still gave a rats ass).  Going back and looking at Turbine's glitcher periods (like that falling through the walls fiasco) and seeing how it lined up with with the decline of players (via the oracle).

Best way to take a walk down memory lane is to look at your old post on the motherboard.

If you are going to put that much work into something your time would probably be better spent on your masters thesis. Of course if you tried you might be able to spin it into one for psychology maybe.

You mistake the purpose of a Master's (Doctoral) thesis. It is to generate exactly this sort of motivation for work that isn't the thesis.

The most broken epic PL in the game is the ridiculous AC buff from martial PLs. But when you include all the inherent benefits from reincarnation, the thing is above the roof. The benefit from TR was supposed to be minimal, but now it is game breaking. start a new character and you will feel, you will get raped in heroics.

Personally I think lower heroics on new characters are harder than Legendary Elite content on a character with good gear and has all destinies farmed.

Have you ever been asked to help a very notable Harvard PhD turned Constitutional scholar with his very-well received book on Legal Philosophy and Constitutional Revolutions? No? Then STFU you fucking amateur.
