	As long as the loot pass is limited to random loot I don't care. I can't think of one random item I use atm. If they make random loot worse .. so what... if they make it better.. fine I may use one of these.

	Loot gen is a challenge. Make it too good and it screws up the value of raid loot. Make it too weak and everybody complains and barely bothers to open chests. Typically, right when the cap goes up is when loot gen becomes a factor. When the cap rose to 28 and you had stat items up to +10 dropping and the max on raid loot from gianthold was +8, it immediately invalidated a bunch of Gianthold gear. When the cap rose to 24, you saw the same thing. Also, they have some inconsistency. Look at stats. Plusses go 1/3/5/7/9/11 for +1-+6. Then a huge gap till +7. And another gap to +8. Then +9,+10, +11 and +12 are crammed into 3 levels. But I don't know how you smooth that out with all the raid gear and named items out there. I'd rather they fixed the problems, though, than just leaving them be because they were kinda difficult to fix.

You fix it the same way you eat an elephant: One bite at a time. There are a finite number of BTC named raid loot items. Adjust them one at a time, starting with the Heroic raids, and allow people with an old version to convert it to the new version using the Stone of Change. Roll a few item changes out with each hotfix. Gradual adjustment gives the people making the revisions an opportunity to see what works well and what does not and mitigates the risk of blowing everything up. They could even modify the lootgen tables to address the clumping of stat modifiers. Done slowly enough, almost nobody would notice. This is why I expect them to retroactively ass up all the legacy raid loot in one go without looking at previous raid loot revisions and without any warning. It'll happen just like the change to the blades in Shroud - "because someone was in there already".

	The last loot pass mucked things up pretty bad. There was a time when you could occasionally find a ring or item with +6 to a stat and nothing else. I haven't yet seen a +12 and nothing else stat item. Then they nerfed Holy and did all this "Fire I, Fire II" shit. And everything, EVERYTHING, paired with a suffix. Ugh. Yeah, I don't bother with loot gen either.

	I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

	Guild Wars 2 has been successful. I didn't like it, but the game is doing decently in terms of players and revenue, by all accounts.

	Meanwhile games like AC2 and EQ2 failed quite abysmally, which are much more in line with DDO. GWs seems to be more of "A fantasy themed fighting game with some PvE content on the side" - not that that's bad, but I mainly play DDO because it doesn't have shitty PvP messing up my fun.
