No...He was right...It was me all along for continually running into Elitist Tools on Thelanis right from Lvl 1-18 but not on Sarlona, Khyber or Argo!
Of course it was me rather than the overabundance of Elitist Tools on Thelanis, Orien and G-Land that was the problem!

Ever stop to consider that this might be true? Having played mostly on T-land for the last 8 years now I can honestly say that the number of elitist jerks I have run into is perhaps 20 and almost all of them were in the Starfleet or Legend guilds (both near dead if not dead now). Really I didn't hit many at all, I ran into far more players who were incapable or unwilling to learn or who were just looking to pike than I have elitist jerks.
You might consider that you have well admitted that your skill level is middle of the road at best, and I would say that my observation of your knowledge level is higher than that but by no mean comprehensive. Finally you have well established on the forums that you stick to and defend your opinions like a rabid pitbull on a baby rabbit.
So if you add it up you have
- Middling skill
- Incomplete knowledge
- Unwillingness to learn / change
This combination, on Thelanis, is not a good one. People there are VERY knowledgeable and it's in many ways a collective knowledge because it's shared so freely. Thus if you were to play there, in particular on elite runs, with marginal skills, incomplete knowledge and an unwillingness to learn from or at least acknowledge the validity of their observations you will most certainly have a bad day.
Don't get me wrong, you don't need FOM or some uber build to get accepted. Hell I ran into a 2 Cleric, 2 Wizard, 2 Fighter once and asked him what was up with that (thinking maybe he found some good synergy I didn't know).; Turned out he was a new player re-creating a PnP character he had. I offered some advise about the lack of synergy of the classes and how he might find it quite difficult later in the game even tossed him a +2 Con tome for his next level (as he dumped con and it was only a 12) and wished him luck. Still talk with him occasionally now and that toon is on it's 3rd life (he plays infrequently and levels slowly) but is enjoying it and we laugh at the choice of that first life but in the end he learned from the mistakes and actually made a decent 2/2/16 cleric/wizzy/ftr in the end that wasn't horribad. Keep in mind this was either just before or after MOTU dropped and CON + Toughness were more or less required in every build to stay standing.
He got the occasional punt from raids but more often it was because they thought he was a healer but really scroll healed and that was it. Pugs never did give him grief either.
