There is a well doccumented history of ranged builds that focus on IPS way out performing builds that focus on single target DPS. This is not a new ranged build consideration I just thought of, it has been discussed for over a decade.

Someone asked if anyone posted a caster build since the update.
Idfk that you need one? Just shiradi MM the shit out of stuff like 6 years ago. Nothing has really changed for caster builds.
At least not for shiradi.
Is it more dps? Not sure and probably note.
If you gear right, maybe. But the point of the build should not be to grind specific gear until you can perform decently IMHO.
Good gear should be the icing on top that takes you from soloing EE to soloing R10.
Then again, that's a very Blizzard Diablo 3 mindset I guess. Unfortunately. It's how the game has always been though. For any class except those who just need constant heals form someone else...

Exactly, hence the question. IPS doesn't work the same way on all builds. You didn't take it in to consideration, all is good, not cracking on your build.
