What loot is really needed from it?

Do I still have to run with 23 random strangers and hope I don't get banned?

I ran Maban the first time, and quickly decided there was nothing that intrigued me.  The cloak and the handwraps were nice, but the handwraps were nerfed.

I guarantee you the potions will be changed under the new spellpower system to be something like a +25 Alchemical Radiant Spellpower bonus that has the side effect of disabling spellpower on all incoming spells.

I like to have the Cloak for all my characters, and the Robe of Shadows for my Arcanes. Also like the Deathward potions. Other than that, not much. I personally enjoyed it in small doses when I didn't have anything else to do, and I found I could make some decent plat on a first-life no-alt character by farming motes and selling them on the AH in "just-right-sized" bundles.

Robe if night is excellent, will be nice to have +3 necro DC and both hands free to hold other shit.

Level 24 Cloak of night is also excellent.

not sold on anything else.

having a big stack of Deathward pots is great.

you can never have too many pumpkin heads.

Mabar is great griefing. You can steal kills all day long in the graveyard, then go in the dragon chamber every hour and pike.

Simply rebooting your machine every time a potion is used will correct this.

Note that this means you must reboot your machine every time anyone in your instance uses one of the potions.

You lose the DC when you take off the spider robe.

It's still good for mariliths and other places where you get beat up and don't need DC's.

I don't lose a DC, got a +4 INT tome so +3 insightful Int puts me at an odd number.

But YMMV depending on your build and stuff.

True enough, though other DC's suffer a tad.

Is a +3 School DC stick with +3 spell pen possible?

I've seen +3 DC and +2 spell pen. Not sure +3 spell pen can come on a +3 DC.

What rest said.  I'm trying to keep my hand free for as much spell pen as possible (yet un-crafted LOB sticks).  For the different "other" spell DCs thinking of crafting bracers and swapping to whatever is most appropriate.

Dunno if you saw this:  http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=392696

The OP is a little more than mildly retarded but towards the end
some really good gear loadouts are discussed including the pros/cons
of both hands being lob items.

LOL!  Now you sound like Chai and Thrudh Cheesy  Not at all game-breaking, because there's some insane workaround that overcomes the inability to produce quality code Turbine has proven to have.

I love the cloak for leveling, and need to upgrade some wraps.  I LIKE the light grenades for the shadow king (i think it is) runs below level (keeps me from dragging the mummy all the way across the map and playing switch games just to damage him).  I find it a fun distraction for a moment; but really prefer Cove for rings, neckli, and of course air ele gems.

That thread reminds me I need to ditch the Epic Specs on my pale master, since I have +3 necro DC on a weapon now.

Dunno what to put there though, as I already have 2 GS items on, and one that's redundant in the bank.

Mabar is fucking boring. I spent an evening in there the first time it was around, and I can still feel the pain.

There is nothing I cannot live well without in there anyway  Roll Eyes

INT, because that frees up a ring slot to wear a shintao ring.

I hate you.

Ohhh... I went down the "why play Mabar" line of thinking.

I just re-read the OP... "Prove to me it's fun"... I can't.  It really isn't.

Agreed. The novelty of the first time around with radiant servant proved fun. Remembering why I don't like public PvE zones? Not so much.

(Not really on track with the discussion, but oh well.  Deal with it.)

On my wf sorc, I'm currently wearing a greater spell pen 9 docent of spell proofing.  (I think that's the suffix.  5 renewable charges of spell absorption and sr 35)

Nice. I have something with spell proofing on it. I think it's a robe with a lame prefix though.

Heh.  One of my guildies is looking for a robe or outfit with that same suffix on it for his monk.  He wants to see if he can actually get his SR up high enough to be useful in EE content.
