Two questions:

1. Can someone break down sources of ranged power for me?  [EDIT:Nevermind

2. Is Wind Stance or Earth Stance better? (assume you have haste on.)  BTW, Wind stance doesn't give doubleSHOT does it?

Ok, one more:  Is Blitz/LD definitely better than Shiradi?

1. You got it.
2. Wind stance on a Shuriken thrower always. 19-20 +1 Crit does increase your physical damage 8-10% (depending on your crit multi and threat range), but 6 Dex (+4 for ultimate and -2 for Earth) increases ALL of your damage, IE SA, Physical and Proc by simply making your throw faster/more missiles.

Coefficients in order of total increase per unit to DPS go like this in a cascading order of impact:

1. Throw Speed
2. Missile Proc Rate (Dex, Doubleshot, 10K)
3. Physical Damage/SA (because they scale with RP)
4. Static Proc damage effects (touch of flames, etc).

Wind Stance does not give Doubleshot, but it does give 15% throw speed (Grandmaster) vs. 22% for Haste.

I dont think haste still gives 22% at speed with ranged, gave formerly on my xbow/bow builds but now its back to 15% as well. In effects it was 22% for the most time but recently it was changed.
Not sure if its the case with thrown as well, but it clearly gives 15% now in effect screen as well

i leveled the human build to 8, then stoned, been shroud flagging, and am 1 quest from 20.

It does fairly well. I've been swapping between Shadow Star and an Elite version of the Morning Star. Shadowstar seems best overall barely.

I will say that people leveling Warlocks are facerolling more than I am. But, I've been kinda holding my own.

I think this progression is off. I couldn't open the Adept III on t4 until I spent one more point lower which meant I only got first tier of Adept III

Shadowstar or min2. Morning Star is a pretty good swap if stuff is poison-immune though

Yeah the spelltouched effect with Para/Imp Para on a good L16/20 Shuriken is worth it if you have mats laying around. Works well 'til 22 and first tier of TF.

Before that, I know there are better options for DPS but I like the CC of the MSR so I often use lootgen or crafted with a red slot over named shuriken or GS.

Im finding it depends on mob. I made a couple of spelltouched (lvl20), and I have heroic and epic morningstars. Shadowstar is STILL better on plenty of mobs or at least as good. Sad.

I have a T1 TF waiting for me at 24. We'll see how that changes.

Honestly right now I'm finding this build just so-so. It's not as easy as clearing trash with my pally--wading in and cleaving like mad.

But, it's kinda fun. I'm not I like it better than a monkcher (what I TRed from)

unless something has changed Snowstar is better than Shadowstar by a good margin.

Snowstar: +4 Ench 1.5[1D4] 18-20x2 (NOT KEEN)
Shadowstar: +2 Ench 1.5[2d3] 19-20x2 (KEEN)

Base damage 4+1.5*2.5 = 7.75
Base damage 2+1.5*4 = 8

.25 higher base damage on Shadowstar, massively increased crit threat on Snowstar.

it does 20d4x2 every 3 seconds (20 stacks, 100% Vuln).

How is that good damage? I must be missing something

Your lack of actual testing is showing.

Sting reticks on every crit. So once fully stacked it deals an extra 20d4x2 (100 average) on 80% of your attacks if your build crits on a 5...plus it continues as a DoT if you stop attacking for some reason.

Good damage, yes?

Every 3 seconds...right? Or you mean it does 100 damage on every crit at 20 stacks?

Even if it does do 80 damage a star (crit on a 5) you would have to be using Shadowstar, which means you would lose all of the Thunderforged on hit procs, which are 83 on their own (33 Touch of Flames, 14 Dragons Edge, 36 Mortal Fear, not to mention 5.88 for Meteoric Star), so you're down on proc damage, but obviously ahead on crit damage. Though with a TF you would be critting on a 13, not a 5, so you're getting 45% more crit damage with the shadowstar, albiet at a slightly lower base damage (TF +11, more [W]s).

I could see on a boss where this is would make Shadowstar shine so much (Or I guess any Keen Shuriken),but really it's only worth it with a keen shuriken, and on anthing you can 100% of the time bypass the fort of.

Against trash, I think a TF would still be a better choice because of Mortal Fear, but I haven't actually done the math

Every critical threat actually, so fort bypass isn't an issue...and the "supernatural" ninja poison still damages most undeads and a bunch of other stuff that you'd think would be immune to it.

Obviously Mortal Fear still wins vs trash, but not until 28.

No, because as described it's such incredible garbage I couldnt imagine anyone spending AP on it to train (basically 40d4 Poision every 3 seconds). Obviously working as you're describing it, it quite good, but only with a keen weapon and only so long as throwers crit range with Keen remain hopelessly broken.
