Echo of the Sunsword?  Is that part of the new ravenloft loot?

Yes. It's from the Strahd raid.

So what is looking like the best weapon to sentient-ify so far?

Some of the weapons from the two new raids look awfully good.

Storm's Harness is still a solid candidate and so is Legendary Riftmaker.

Yeah this is kind of what I was hoping for. Something I could make at level 30 (like when we all used to run shroud every 3 days for greenstell at 20) and that I could use for a whole life.

Something with all the abilities I slotted, that I could put in my hand at level 1 and have D6 of good damage. Keep it in my hand and at level 5 have 2D6 good damage, 10th level 5d6 good damage etc etc.

Also, I know this was dreaming but I was seriously hoping they would find a way to incorporate all those old obsolete ingredients into it too. All the dragontouched runes, marks of blah fuckesh, floating eyeballs, magefire cannon parts, etc.

Seems like if they would have done that and maybe required different old crafting system ingredients for different effects that might have breathed some life into older content.

They will never do this because if they do, then they can never make another named weapon again, except as fodder for the sentient weapons.  Which means, what is the point?

This system isn't perfect, but rather than invalidating every existing weapon 1-30 and all the crafting systems for weapons in existence and every named weapon they would ever make, this system  has no effect on named weapons or crafting 1-20 (besides making the named weapons useful for something) reuses all the named weapons 21-30 to add value to them but does limit the value of the crafting systems in 21-30 (ToEE, TF, and LGS).

However, most people universally panned LGS weapons when they came out and TF weapons were mocked after the Mortal Fear nerf and ToEE was really only good as an offhand for the set bonus (which still works since you can't use two sentient weapons.  So you can still use ToEE, LGS, and TF in the off hand.  Which works for Casters, throwers, and TWF.  So the only people who are seeing ToEE, LGS, and TF being totally invalidated are SWF and S&B melees. (Because THF are using Riftmaker, anyways).

From what I've read (someone correct me if this is wrong) .....you have to first unslot all the filigree from the gem(which costs plat) and then unslot the gem which uses a p2w removal kit thing.

I think they said you can get the p2w removal kitas loot, but yeah, those store items sure do have a good drop rate historically!

THF: Riftmaker
S&B: Spinal Tap
Vistani: Assassin's Kiss
Staff: Elemental Bloom
Xbow: Divine Artillery
Longbow: Sapphire Sting
Wraps: Storm's Harness
Swash: Skullsmasher

Is there a list of what all filigree bonuses are available to be slotted? I'm not sure if a thrower would want to sentient a Dawnbringer or an offhand Rebellion.

What about lvl 21 weapons? Many of us are still looking at this as the Epic TR-twinker we've always wanted.

Actually a different game entirely, probably superior to DDO in many ways. Curious that SSG devs somehow made sentient weapons compatible with it.

Crying shame they didn't just lower the ML to 20 Sad yet more of leaving all the legacy epic loot high and dry.

Also: cripes, MOTU was update 14?! Where did the time go?!

Rather than?  Dude, they invalidate "every existing weapon 1-30 and all the crafting systems" every time they release a new power creep or a new crafting system.

Where the fuck have you been hiding that you don't know this?

There are a few items that slip through the cracks, sure.  But that is the general rule.  Why else are you feeding obsolete named loot to your sentient gem if it is gear you'd actually use?  Oh yeah, because it isn't gear you'd actually use because it's 2+ years old and something better came along that made it junk now.
