That will never happen.  After all, this is their incentive:

Quote:
Seeking people willing to spend their time in a so called "focus group" for no real world pay and no in-game reward.  Your input will most likely be ignored, and we aren't interested in anything you have to say that isn't a direct answer to our narrowly defined set of questions.

I've not been on the PC, but I have spoken at length with several former members.  None of the ones whose opinions I respect had anything good to say about it.  I still gave polite attention and asked the same sorts of questions of the ones whose opinions I do not respect, and didn't come away with a much different conclusion.

When you're asking for people with time to waste not playing your game and not being rewarded and not having much impact, you mostly get people with a need to belong and who bring very little else to the table.

Hell, even when I was in middle school and the local mall had a market research group operating out of it I was paid $15 to give my learned opinions on three different kinds of fritos-like chips and got to munch chips and drink soda with a bunch of other kids, some I knew from my school.  Turbine doesn't even do that much for the PC.

No, let me be Frank.

You get to interact with irrational, arrogant douchebags like Uurlock.  You forgot about that.  He is still a condescending know-it-all jackass and Jerry continues to let him trash people and scolds them when they respond in kind.  There is some benefit, but it comes with a price.

When he goes douchebag on you, just report his posts as harassement.
If Cordovan keeps protecting him, go up the food chain to WB.  Roll Eyes

The whole idea is that if Cordovan wants to keep his job, at one point he will have to remove Whiny_Kobold permanently from the main forum.

I don't report posts unless they are egregious.  Certainly not for the childish bullshit Uurlock does.  Not that Jerry would do anything about Uurlock and I don't give enough of a shit to climb the WB food chain over it (nor do I hold any misconception that they would actually act on anything).  I've got better ways to spend my time.

I don't, either.  I'm not so thin skinned that I need to cry about people using ad hominems or taking a discussion way far off track in order to defend their idiot opinion.

The problem as I see it is that Jerry is a knee-jerk kind of guy.  I don't think he is capable of looking at a post like that and thinking to himself "Hey, that's a violation of the TOS, I ought to infract that guy!", except in cases where he is defending Turbine employees or the PC since Turbine has a stake in that idiocy.

I think he mostly just reacts to people reporting posts, and doesn't put too much thought into it at that.  I think his thought process goes like this: "A post was reported?  It must deserve an infraction."

My first infraction was for quoting someone and holding them to their words.  I got infracted for the number 8 special of Provoking, Trolling, and “baiting”, just for not allowing someone to wriggle away from and deny their own words.  Because the person who didn't want to live up to their own words decided that reporting me was the best way to win the argument.  How using someones own words to point out their idiocy is Provoking, Trolling, and “baiting” escapes me.

with Whiny_Kobold you have to answer in kind...
He will report each and every post he find might potentially be remotely offensive.

You know how that works, Godh did that too long ago...

The only way is to answer in kind.

It's a mistake to not report everything that's infractable if you're swimming in the same pool as Uurlock.  He'll continue to piss in the water until he tastes yours and learns from the experience.

There is no "high road" on Jerry's forum.

That's the best.  It could be better stated as:

"Closing this thread because sycophants and suck-ups have attacked people with actual, valid issues."
